                 I chose the Philippines as my culture area because I’ve been trying to learn more about the archipelago. I want to better understand the culture that my girlfriend comes from.  While she helped me during the project she gained a renewed interest in learning about the stories and history of the country she came from and wants to learn more. The USA has had a mixed history with the Philippines – originally being conquerors and later allies. My goal is to do the stories justice and tell them with respect. I would like to inspire others to gain an interest in the Philippines whether they are Filipino or not.
