Golden Cookies by Peggy Babbitt

Do you think that Fortune Cookies are lucky? Or do you think that it’s a myth that the numbers in the back are lucky, or that the sayings are true? A Fortune Cookie usually entails premonitions about love, career, happiness and money. Is it a coincidence that five people in the United States won the Lottery by playing the numbers that they had on the back of the fortune they found in their cookies? According to The Fortune Cookie Chronicles written by Jennifer 8. Lee, this actually happened.

In the United States alone, “four million cookies a day- more than a million cookies a year”, are made. (Lee p. 273)  Now, the next time you go out for Chinese, do you think you’ll play the numbers on the back of your Fortune Cookie…?  Maybe your next fortune cookie will be your golden cookie!

Fortune is for those who believe. The Chinese have so many good luck symbols, perhaps that is why they are so philosphical in life.

Wow! And I just like the cookies! I know that the cookies are made in ‘batches’ of 5,000…with no fortunes in that batch duplicated…wow…who writes all those? Amazing!
