Tuesdays in June the place for stories in the middle of Ireland will be the Athlone Library. I’ve been working with Mae McLynn, one of the librarians to set up a weekly schedule for local children to come to the library for stories. The third Tuesday, June 19th, Liz Weir will be performing. I’ll be performing at the other three along with local storytellers Danielle Allison and Susie Minto. Two very experienced Arizona storytellers, Doug Bland and Joyce Story, are participating in Study Abroad Ireland and they will be telling at some of the sessions, too – even though they may have to miss class. And you never know. Some of my new students may be up to the task as well. So, all in all, we should have some great sessions at the library this summer.
