Monday afternoon, June 20, Laura Rutherford and I told stories at Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí, the School of the Four Masters. This is the Gaelic language school in Athlone where Danielle’s daughter Katie attends. We spent a couple of hours there telling to Katie’s 1st class, and then to a 5th class. We were very well received.
One of the highlights for me was meeting Gearóid Ó Duibhir, who teaches I think the 6th class and is also their computer expert. He is interested in connecting his class with Sara Kirby’s back in Phoenix for our long anticipated international children’s storytelling exchange program. Gearoid and I talked briefly, and his thinking about structure and timing for the project were exactly like mine. I take that as a very good sign!
